Solidify: LegalVision (Blackbird)

OK: Blackbird was advised on its seed-stage co-investment in Blinq. The co-investment was made with Square Peg Capital.

Assess: $5 million

Area: Company

Key players: The LegalVision team was led by Practice Leader Jill McKnight.

Significance of agreement: Blinq was created in 2017 by former Jarrod Webb, Uber Eats operator and software engineer.

Blinq replaces static business cards and contact apps with a live profile that can be shared via QR code, NFC card, short link, email signature or even call background video. The user can create multiple profiles to control what information they share and with whom, and details are automatically updated on all their contacts when the user changes them, according to a statement from LegalVision.

The statement noted that Blinq grew rapidly during the COVID-19 pandemic, when QR code technology became mainstream due to mandatory venue check-ins and table-top orders, and the company will use its newly raised capital to expand its commercial product, adds more enterprise features and more integrated directories to its platform.
